5Dogswell treat are great!Feb 08, 2009
We were buying a similar treat for our dog which is very expensive and while researching it on the net, we found that those treats are suspected of causing kidney problems. Our dog loves the dogswell treats just as well, and we believe they are healthier for him. (He is a very finicky dog)

5Great Treat at a Great Price........Feb 02, 2009
I don't know what it is about these treats, but my dog goes nuts for them. I buy the variety pack to provide variety, but frankly I don't think my dog notices a difference because he gobbles them all up with the same enthusiasm. This treat is generally a little pricey with specialty stores charging $8-9 a bag. At less than $5 a bag, Amazon definitely has the best prices - with free shipping it's a steal.

5Arf arf, bow wow, ruff ruff, slobbery kissJan 20, 2009
I first received samples of Dogswell jerky at the Green Festival and was thrilled to bring home a little bunch of treats for my 15 year old (nearly) Cairn Terrier. Because we don't eat meat, my best friend had been supplying my dog with home-made jerky which we needed to keep in the freezer because it's just ground turkey or beef with no additives. Now this little dog is only around 15 pounds or so, but let me tell you, she loves to receive treats, be they jerky or carrots, but when she sees me go toward these bags of Dogswell, her eyes just about pop out of her head. They are very dry, which is great for us because we don't usually offer canned food or soft treats. Our dog has all her teeth, and no problem chewing these jerky treats, whereas other dried chicken strips were problematic for her because they were so brittle. When it came time to buy these, we got the variety pack because it was a better deal than a package of all the same. I honestly can't determine which the dog prefers, so we just alternate and keep them in an airtight container.

5Sounds like jerkyJan 13, 2009
These look and smell like jerky. The ingredient list is short and healthy. My dog absolutely loves them and she is a treat snob. A boxer mix and 65 pounds, one treat may last thirty seconds for her.
My vet says she has allergies which is another reason I like these. I see nothing in the ingredients that would set the allergies off. I can't say that about most retail treat products.

3My dog won't eat these.Jan 12, 2009
It is important to note that these treats are dehydrated and the form of a tough jerky/cowhide. My dog likes soft treats (a 3 year old Bichon Frise) like Pup-Peroni and other "softer" treats. I tore one of these jerkey treats for her into 3 pieces and she still refused it. Again, these have a very hard consistency - maybe more suitable for a larger dog. I guess I did not realize they were this dried out when I purchased them, so now I am stuck with a huge variety pack of treats she won't eat. Guess I will give them to a firend or neighbor to see if their dog will eat them.
