Great toy - not too big or too small...Nov 08, 2009 Hey, I fully respect those of you who have cats that "ignore" this toy. Not all cats like "round toys" and many are size oriented. Our cat is a male and loves this toy. He prefers "flat" toys as he especially likes to lay on his toys. This is ONE of his favorites. He swats it, holds it betreen his paws and licks it like he's grooming it, sleeps with his head on it, rolls over on his back and flickie kicks it then falls asleep with it on his belly. Very cute. It does look like "road kill" - LOL. It is not detailed - eyes, mouth, wiskers etc. It's not high art. It's a cat toy! Let your cat decide if they like it. Let me see, fuzzy, critter shaped and full of cat nip. Hmmmm? Gotta be a winner.

Might as well be road killSep 11, 2009 Well I was excited by this toy since I know my 3 cats like both catnip and the little furry mice toys. I even had one cat who had stolen a stuffed pony and would carry it around the house. However I was disappointed that none of my cats showed any interest in the toy. I used one of the catnip tea bags that came with it and when I got no reaction form my cats I replaced that wit hloose catnip. I think the design is good, but alias none of my cats are interested in playing with it. So the toy sitso n the floor like road kill in the street. :)

Not exciting, but sturdy.Sep 11, 2009 Our cat will play with the little stuffed animal for a minute or two when we offer it. She holds it down with her feet and pulls the hair out of the tail. She soon loses interest. The toy, as others have said, is very small. It's body is about four inches long. It seems to be well made. It has a deep pocket for holding catnip with very secure velcro that stays closed while in use. For our cat it's best used as a temporary distraction. Sometimes that's ok.

squirrel catnip toySep 03, 2009 My 3 month old cat that has tons of energy and loves to play wasn't too impressed with this toy. He played with it for a while but now only plays with it occasionally and only for a minute or two. He'd rather play with wadded up paper or his other toys. I tried putting fresh catnip into the sealable pouch but it didn't seem to make any difference. I guess it all depends on what a particular cat likes. I would think some cats would love this toy but for some reason my cat doesn't.
Even passive cats love this!!!Aug 25, 2009 I concur with many of the reviewers regarding their positive comments on this product. Having two cats that were quite passive, I was amazed at how this toy animated them. They were absolutely overjoyed at this toy and even fought each other (complete with hissing) for it. One became so attached he even brought it to his sleeping area and slept with it!!
The only negative (and hence why I give it four instead of five stars) is that the product could have been made a little more durable as the cats really chew and claw it - hence a more durable build material should have been used (i.e., tougher, fabric base).
